Carers Rights Day celebration: Thursday 21 November 2019

We have teamed up with the Carers UK to celebrate Carers Rights Day on Thursday 21 November 2019. This is a national day that helps to ensure unpaid carers are aware of their rights and where they can get help and support.  See poster and event details below.

Event Details

On Thursday 21 November 2019, Carers UK will have an information stall at Falmouth Road Surgery from 10.00am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4.00pm.

At the information stall, you will be able to find out how Carers UK can provide help and support to you – or a family member, friend or neighbour who may be a carer.

All patients, friends and family are welcome to attend the event.

We want to know if you are a carer

Please let us know if you are a carer. Carers are people who provide unpaid support to a partner, relative or friend to live independently. Without this help, their health or wellbeing would deteriorate.

If you are a carer, the practice will be able to offer you additional support to meet your own health needs.

Lister Practice: NEW telephone number and system from Friday 26 April 2019

New telephone system and number for The Lister Practice – improving your service from Friday 26th April 2019

Dear Patients,

Your feedback is very important to us, and is helping to improve and shape the care that we deliver at The Lister Practice.

We know from the experiences that you have shared with us that you are unsatisfied with the current telephone system, and that you can often be on hold for quite some time, as well as sometimes experience disconnection whilst in conversation with one of our team members.

We have been working hard with NEL CSU who provide the current telephone system, and in January 2019 we took the firm decision to change telephony provider, as we do not consider the NEL CSU system to be fit-for-purpose having explored all possible options for its improvement.

From Friday 26th April 2019, the new number for The Lister Practice will be 0203 474 5570. The new number is part of a brand new telephone system that we have invested in for our patients, and this is designed to provide you with an improved service, thank you for your patience during the change and sorry for any inconvenience you may experience in adjusting to the new number.

The current number (020 3049 8430) cannot be transferred to us, and will instead play a permanent message stating:

“Please note, the number for The Lister Practice has now changed. The new number is 0203 474 5570, that’s 0203 474 5570. Please store this new number. Your call will not be diverted.”

If you have any queries or concerns and would like to write to us, please email us on, thank you.

Queens Road Surgery Carers Event after report with pictures

Queens Road Surgery hosted a successful Carers Afternoon for all members of the public on Wednesday 28th Febuary 2018See pictures from the event below.
The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, registered patients, local healthcare providers and surgery staff.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet with the Practice Manager, together with new and long standing staff members of the practice. The event helped to raise awareness about a number of local Carers service providers, all of which are accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Southwark. Patients also had access to refreshments.
The event provided a great platform for local healthcare services to engage with one another, promoting a holistic and community based approach to healthcare.
The local services that attended were:

  • Southwark Carerswho aim to make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Southwark by providing them with a range of services, support and recognition.

AT Medics were delighted to host this event, and extend special thanks to the practice team and services who made this all possible.

Important Drug Information

Dear Patients,

In October 2018, the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) recommended that pregabalin and gabapentin should be controlled as class C Drugs.

Under Uk law, Gabapentin and Pregabalin will now be reclassified as Class C Controlled substances from April 2019 to reduce the growing number of deaths associated with its misuse.

This change means we are only able to supply these medications one month at a time, and we will no longer be able to electronically send this prescription to the pharmacy for patients who require this medication

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
